AVOIDING FOOT-IN-MOUTH DISEASE
Dysfunctional communication is part of every workplace. Diverse populations add to the communication complications. We make our directions "perfectly clear" but the behavior we witness is totally inappropriate. We mean one thing and they hear something altogether different. The diverse workplace cries out for new communication strategies. In this fun and useful workshop we explore some of the causes of foot-in-mouth disease and suggest some modest prescriptions.
LET’S BUILD A TEAM
We train for leadership and sometimes forget that leaders are just another part of a team. Let’s build a team with excellent communication skills, a sense of mutual respect and an understanding of how groups and organizations work. While “diversity” has become a hot-button word, it’s time to recognize that all groups are diverse – are composed of differing individuals. Fred Amram, a professor of communication has been consultant to Fortune 100 corporations and small non-profit groups. Join Amram in becoming a team builder.
